Mike joined the Morecambe Bay CCG as a Lay Member of the Governing Body in July 2017. He spent his working life in the NHS and fromtheearly 1980s he held a number of Chief Officer positions managing learning disability, mental health, community, acute and specialist hospital services in a career lasting 35 years. He retired from the NHS in 2007. As a Lay Member he has an interest in the quality and performance of clinical services.
When working in South Cumbria in the mid-1990s he met his current partner and on retiring he joined her to live in Barrow in Furness. He has three children and five grandchildren who live in Scotland and South Yorkshire.
