Andrew Severn

Andrew worked as a consultant anaesthetist for Morecambe Bay Hospitals for 20 years, during which time his major clinical role was clinics for people with chronic pain. He has a long standing interest in the outcomes of anaesthesia and of surgery on elderly patients and he has recently been Principal Investigator for a multicentre trial looking at cognitive function and dementia after hip fracture surgery. Andrew taught at Lancaster Medical School for 7 years and is keen to see its graduates take up employment opportunities in the Bay area. He is currently a trustee of St John's Hospice, Lancaster.
