The purpose of the Listening Group is to support the CCG in meeting its statutory requirements in line with sections 13Q and 14Z2 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012, which place a duty on CCGs to promote the involvement of patients and the public.
The Committee on Standards in Public Life (Nolan Committee) has set out seven principles of public life which it believes should apply to all in public service. These are known as the Nolan Principles.
The Listening Group supports the CCG to include patients and the public in:
- the ongoing planning of services
- developing proposals for change
- making decisions that may affect the operations of services
Where necessary, the Listening Group will seek the views of the wider population for consultation/patient voice purposes.
Our mission statement is:
“To influence provision of services commissioned by our CCG reflecting the views of our community.”
If you would like to know more about the Listening Group, please get in touch with us - we would love to hear from you.
